Attack knocks woman onto subway tracks

A woman in New York City is still recovering after a man attacked her and threw her onto the subway tracks. Police are still looking for the assailant, who witnesses described as unstable and intimidating, reports.

The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m., and the suspect apparently targeted the victim as soon as he stepped off the train. When a bystander noticed the man threatening the victim, he launched into action and confronted the man. However, he was still able to hit the woman in the back of the head, which knocked her on the tracks.

The victim suffered significant injuries and was knocked unconscious, but luckily she was able to be pulled from the tracks shortly before the F train arrived at the East Broadway station.

Individuals who are worried about being the victim of a similar attack may want to consider carrying pepper spray. Experts recommend keeping the device in an easy-to-reach location so that it can be used quickly if the need ever arises.
